Selecting the display image

The Cells have two alternative sources for the image that is displayed on the screen - the on-screen display (OSD), and an external computer. Naturally, there is need to switch between these two types of display. Depending on the Cell revision, there are two ways to control which input source is preferred.

Cells with an integrated DVI switch

Current MultiTaction Cells have an integrated DVI switch for allowing LCD image to be taken either from the internal tracking computer, or from an external computer. With these devices, the on-screen display image is shown, until the user decides otherwise. To move from the on-screen display to an external display, there are alternative methods:

  • Click on the "Close OSD" button in the on-screen display (top-left corner)
  • Adjust the OSD timeout from the "OSD" view, in the "System" tab. After the timeout, the on-screen display should vanish and show the image from the external source instead.

Cells with a loopback cable

The first MultiTaction Cells had a DVI cable going out of the display, from the internal tracking computer. To access the OSD with these models, one needs to connect the loop-back cable to the DVI input at the back of the Cell. This type of Cells are no longer produced. With these Cells the image source is changed by changing the DVI cable that is going to the DVI input of the Cell.
